Dive torch light head
thingiverse
I was determined to build an exceptionally powerful dive light that wouldn't break the bank, but I don't have access to advanced tools like CNC or metal lathes so I thought I'd attempt to 3D print one instead. This design is meant to house high-performance LED's in 25W, 50W, and 100W power configurations that can be purchased inexpensively from Chinese retailers on websites like eBay. It comes equipped with a 50mm reflector and 44mm collimating lens - all of which can be obtained from retailers such as DealExtreme or BangGood. The front lens is made from high-quality 8mm polycarbonate available at any hardware store, while the rear features 5mm aluminum plate secured with water-tight seals provided by 63mm ID 2mm cross-section o-rings. The battery and LED driver are safely stored within a waterproof housing unit of your choice. So far, I've left this incredibly bright and extremely durable device running non-stop for an hour while submerged in the sink without issue - taking it on several underwater expeditions. But its full potential still needs to be thoroughly tested at deeper depths.
