Improved Version of Surface Marker Buoy Line Reel System The original surface marker buoy line reel design had neutral buoyancy, which was not ideal. When releasing the SMB, it's always better when the reel has negative buoyancy and can be dropped into the water to let the line or rope unroll smoothly. This new version features three ballast compartments that can be easily filled with lead wire or 4.5 mm lead balls used in air guns. When using suggested ballast, the resulting buoyancy is conveniently negative. The size of this design allows for glue-less assembly simply by pressing the two parts together, such as in a vice. It's essential to check the orientation of the two parts before pressing, as disassembly and adjustment of orientation is virtually impossible. Print Settings: Printer: Prusa i3 original MK2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 100% Notes: Printed easily from ABS material. How I Designed This Using FreeCAD software, I designed this improved version of the surface marker buoy line reel system.
