"Get that disgusting tentacle away from my face!" A quick day project - sculpting, printing, and painting a prawn inspired by District 9! I frequently rework other people's work, whether for professional or personal projects, so it's refreshing to create something on my own. I genuinely enjoyed this film; its perfect blend of humor, sci-fi, ranks it among my top 20 favorites. The sculpture was created using Blender, while the painting used acrylics. *** Antenna *** I deliberately utilized leftover filament scraps for the project. Printing an antenna seemed like a recipe for disaster, so I omitted it altogether and created holes to accommodate the filament instead. All that's required is melting the ends of the filament, then pushing them into the prepared slots - they will naturally form balls and establish their own joint, as evidenced by the attached photo; these "balls" will securely remain inside, allowing you to position the antenna wherever desired! Separating the mouth supports proved challenging for me, so after my initial print I removed the front section. You're welcome in advance when cleaning it up – minimal supports were retained this way. The internal support column remains, but feel free to print at 0% infill if desired; a two-shell structure should suffice for that part of the model.
