Distributed Electric Propulsion Nose Cone

The main goal of this project is to successfully display the aerodynamic and structural performance benefits that a DEP aircraft possesses. The use of distributed propulsion provides a widened flight envelope allowing for a vast range of cruise speeds. The distribution of propellers across the leading edge of the wing increases the local velocity relative to the aircraft. This project aims to take advantage of this effect through implementation of optimized design provided by ample CFD analysis. Through the use of CFD, the team has prioritized designs that favor lift and stability, while not sacrificing structural strength as proven by FEA.
