DistoX v1 holder for Leica Disto A3

This is a DistoX v1 holder. It securely holds a Leica Disto A3 for calibrating its DistoX upgrade in combination with Mykyta Kozlov's calibration cube as announced on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2205123638/permalink/10153870390228639/. The setup is described here: https://bitbucket.org/ngry/distox2_cube/overview. For those unfamiliar, a DistoX is an upgrade for a Leica Disto designed by Beat Heeb to be used for surveying caves. You can find Beat's site about paperless cave surveying here: https://paperless.bheeb.ch/. Mykyta's setup is designed for the DistoX version 2 based on the newer Leica Disto X310, but many speleologists are still using the older model, which works perfectly fine! So I tried out some designs and this is my final one that I'm actually using. I'm not a script-oriented open-SCAD expert, so I designed the holder in FreeCAD and exported it as an STL file. This way, DistoX model 1 owners can download it to mount their device if they build the DistoX calibrator as described by Mykyta. The holder has an optional side hole for mounting a non-magnetic screw, but you don't really need it, as the Disto fits very well without falling out even when upside-down. The rotation axis' position is optimized for the Disto A3 turning around its laser beam's center. A slit in the right-hand side permits sliding in the Disto without removing the wrist strap. The hollow tubular shaft on the bottom has a square end that fits into Mykyta's calibration cube, but you need to slide in the 8mm aluminum rod as mentioned in his design. Tip: I printed Mykyta Kozlov's cube and my DistoX-1's holder in fluorescent PLA glowing in the dark. This way, colleagues see your installation before walking over it! As usual: don't forget to use only non-magnetic parts and make sure your tripod is too. Good luck and happy cave surveying!
