I first designed an intricate hexagonal grid spanning the surface of a torus, meticulously crafted with precision and care. Next, I skillfully pinched one side of the grid, subtly altering its shape and form. To complete this transformative process, I introduced a precise rotation for that specific section. The initial basic torus was carefully constructed using Openscad's robust features. Subsequently, Python was employed to expertly modify the corner coordinates through a sophisticated pinching-and-rotation transformation, yielding a refined and elegant design. Photos of the final print, generously provided by Shapeways, showcase the intricate details and nuanced shape of this innovative creation.
