Why this contraption?If you use normal wall mount brackets for sensors like the Xiaomi BT temperature sensor you will always get quite an offset to the real room temperature due to the influence of the wall on the measurement. During heating/cooling of the room the display precise readings will be delayed by at least 30minutes to several hours. In other words: you will measure the temperature of the wall instead of the temperature of the air in the room, which you would like to know. when the sensor should be used to pilot the room heating the delay/offset will cause difficulties and result in poor regulation like slow heating or drastic overshoots. Put the sensor in the airflow of the room!This spacer mitigates this problem by moving the sensor a bit away from the wall, exposing the sensor to the air flow of the room.This spacer is intended to be mounted at least at head height or slightly above on the wall, out of reach of most people to avoid interference. Therefore it is bent down for easier reading.Assembly:Use 4 M2x5 (or longer) screws to fasten the sensor holder to the two framwork parts. Use 3 screws of diametre 3 to 3.5 mm to mount spacer to wall. Push the bottom mounting bracket over the end of both frame parts and fasten to wall (no need to glue anything). Insert sensor.
