Display Adapter Mount

Display Adapter Mount

When I updated my A8 to SkyNet firmware, numerous problems arose with the display. All possible fixes online were tried, including separating the board, adding an inductor, etc., but nothing worked. I discovered that the A6 display would function properly, so one was ordered. Mounting the new display presented a challenge. A replacement top piece designed for the A8 could have been used to mount the A6 type display, but this would have meant giving up the Leo_N-designed upper supports already installed and liked. To find a solution, I decided to design an adapter in Solidworks (file attached) and print it out. The adapter features inner posts to secure the new display, which were drilled out (not through) and blind tapped with #4-40 threads. 1/4" long screws are used to attach the display to the adapter, while longer screws and nuts connect the adapter to the top of the printer and the upper braces.
