Dispenser Arm for Frigidaire Dishwasher
thingiverse
The detergent dispenser door on my Frigidaire Dishwasher suddenly stopped opening during a wash cycle, and I noticed that the spring back on the dispenser door lock wasn't functioning properly when manually cycled. Further investigation revealed that the arm which captures the spring and is activated by the detergent dispenser door solenoid had worn out due to excessive use. The only replacement part available from the manufacturer is the entire detergent dispenser door, priced at $30 with several days of shipping time (part # 5304507354). I decided to take on a challenge and design, print, and test a new one within four hours, which would prevent me from ordering the expensive replacement part. After conducting static tests, I assembled everything and am now running a test wash cycle. The arm also controls the rinse aid dispenser, so I'm hoping that all components will activate as intended.
