Disney Rapid Refill Cup Handle

UPDATED 9/27/16!!!! New locking handle!!!! Those of you who are Disney World fans know the thrill that is the Rapid Refill mug. Spend $17.99 and refill your mug with fountain beverages for the entire stay of your trip. Up until recently, these mugs came equipped with handles so that you could carry multiple mugs in one hand (or you're a kid, you prefer using a handle rather than trying to wrap your hand around a large mug). Recently, Disney removed the handles from the mugs, likely as a cost-saving measure for them. Some fans have expressed a preference for having no handles because they fit better in cup holders, while others prefer the handles because they can be easily detached with a carabiner. What's a Disney fanatic to do? I think I've solved your problem. Here is a 4-piece handle attachment that lets you choose either way. The top ring clips onto the mug and the handle secures the ring in place so the mug won't slip out. As of 9/27/16, I've added a locking clip to prevent the handle from slipping out if it's hit upside down. If you have any suggestions for improvements, don't hesitate to let me know. Note: The lower ring can be printed upside down so no supports are needed, and as of 9/27/16, the top ring can now be printed without supports! However, the handle still requires supports. All other parts need no supports! Print Settings Printer Brand: Printer: Rafts: Supports: Resolution: Infill: Notes: Printing the lower ring upside down will allow it to be printed without supports. Print the handle on its side with supports. The top ring can be printed right-side up without supports. The clip can be printed vertically without supports. Post-Printing Remove supports and assemble. Parts should fit together like a press-fit puzzle. The video below is the older version, but I'll update the assembly instructions as I have time. The assembly process remains the same as in the video, with one key difference: after everything is assembled, slide the clip into the top of the handle to lock it all into place! How I Designed This Never underestimate the power of a set of calipers and a copy of Siemens NX!
