Dishwasher Door Prop Opener

Dishwasher Door Prop Opener

I recently discovered that my dishwasher fails to dry dishes efficiently, resulting in coffee mugs covered in water puddles. However, if I leave the door slightly ajar while I'm away at work, the water evaporates and leaves the dishes nice and dry upon my return. My only concern is dust blowing into the appliance, so I decided to design a compact dishwasher prop opener to maintain optimal drying performance without allowing debris inside. The adjustable clip that secures this device measures 23.5mm in width, perfectly matching the height of my top lip on my existing dishwasher model. The part above the clip is designed with an additional height of 13.5mm, creating a snug fit between the appliance and the bottom edge of my countertop. Following the printing process using Slic3r software and my trusty Craftbot printer, I applied these optimized settings: a temperature range of 210 degrees Celsius for the extruder and 60 degrees Celsius for the bed; a layer height of 0.2mm; an infill percentage set to 20%; three vertical shells on the main body; 3 layered top/bottoms for structural integrity, while the perimeters exhibit excellent print resolution at 50mm/s with minimal warping or twisting. The entire object takes approximately 1.5 hours to print using affordable PLA materials, which allows for precise fitting without any necessary adjustments after printing is complete.
