In chaotic households with hectic schedules, it's easy to wonder whether the dishwasher is spotless or clogged up. Unfortunately, traditional methods of using a magnet to indicate clean/dirty just won't cut it because magnets refuse to stick to stainless steel. I was trying to come up with a practical solution that would clip to the dishwasher when I stumbled upon TechShopJim's ingenious design that employs a clip on the door. I'm big on simplicity and liked his approach, so I decided to create something similar but tailored to my Kenmore Elite dishwasher door, which measures 54mm thick. This design prints smoothly using ABS on my Printrbot Metal Plus with support enabled without any issues, and when it comes time to remove the support, it breaks away cleanly. Now let's move on to the instructions: My own dishwasher's door is approximately 54mm thick and about 20mm wide. Fortunately, this clip slides effortlessly onto my appliance and stays firmly in place once fitted. Before printing off a large model that would take over 30 minutes to finish, I like to prototype something small to check my dimensions first. This ensures any potential issues can be addressed before the final product is created. I've also included a test clip in this set so you can verify if it fits snugly on your own dishwasher without having to print out the entire model first.
