I've got another DIY project up my sleeve because why not. I used old magnets from some outdated hard drives and CDs to fuel an idea. Halfway through printing the first one in orange, I decided to toss a few square CD/DVD drive magnets into the mix. Once I finished printing the white one, I sliced open small slits at each end, creating just enough room for the thin curved magnets from old hard drives. I made sure to orient them properly for printing - standing up and at an angle. The key is in the design. Printer Settings: - Printer Brand: Printrbot - Printer: Simple Black - Rafts: Yes - Supports: No - Resolution: 0.1984 Important Notes: When printing at a diagonal, it's crucial to let the print head move out of the way just enough to slide those square magnets into the rounded ends without issue. If you wait till about halfway through or your auto leveler might pull the magnet back in if it gets too close. Also, be cautious around that hot end - it can get pretty scalding.
