Rendering a Photorealistic Dish in 3D Using 3ds Max 2012 Without Plugins or Render Tweaks in MentalRay. This article assumes prior knowledge of 3ds Max, but focuses specifically on the tools and techniques necessary to create high quality dishes that will fool even the most discerning chefs, within this popular modeling and animation software application with a free trial period of 90 days. The model used here is one of many models available in various free sources, modified for a quick look around this process from creation and modeling all through rendering it. Model Setup: To create an easily repeatable pattern of details as would be seen on a typical ceramic dinnerware we simply added another layer in 3d software of small spheres on each dish edge. It takes merely some minor modeling adjustments. Then to save on file size during later usage when using multiple such objects in your scene and keep things neat the new modifier was used which combines the results in just two polygons - what else is good news about this application! The only way left now that it hasn’t done automatically after applying modifiers before clicking okay was re arranging them correctly within groups because one didn't wish them mixing everything inside as desired or even breaking certain areas so all parts looked good enough on render pass too. Textures were painted separately then placed on object surface after export from other DCC ( Digital Content Creation) tools and exported directly onto rendered scene using MentalRay for the sake of simplicity during learning phases but can certainly get more advanced like this author if time permits eventually even switching rendering method completely - all depending personal skills levels at respective times since many paths possible when aiming highest realism especially in certain domains such as product rendering which involves precise details capturing without missing a thing no matter what software platform or plugins involved there will come another blog about creating complex dishes models from scratch next week Tuesday again see you soon happy rendering
