Dish Matic Adapter(s)
thingiverse
This is the Dish Matic Adapter I came up with and tested to work well with any sponge cut to shape. The reason for making this is because the sponges you buy at the store are really expensive for just three dollars ($5-6 here in Australia) and simply aren't worth it as they tend to only last a couple weeks. With this, you can buy the cheaper ones and use those. I have a few other ideas on how to design a better sponge holding system but this is the first one. If you look at Tinkercad, you'll see two designs - the other one with four push-through spikes works also but hasn't been tested fully. Please read the notes on printing below. This thing was made with Tinkercad. Edit it online at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/kLnxYBWju59 Print Settings: Printer: Ecubmaker Fantasy Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 200 Microns Infill: %100 Notes: So you'll want full raft and support for this one. The other design doesn't need a raft. I recommend using a skirt to hold the raft down better on the edges. Print in ABS or Nylon or similar/better. (ABS isn't that great but works). IMPORTANT: The spike part needs to be cut to length, then you simply poke a hole in each end with a hot pin and tie it in once inserted (I used thin wire), it's not pretty but seems to work well. Be careful when inserting for the first time that the side parts don't break. Hold them while clipping in.
