I created this design as there was no existing version of this type of dish on Thingiverse. This is the basic dish shape. Don't expect it to be waterproof if printed in standard FDM (printers that use filament). It's always helpful to have an extra food bowl handy, especially since you can print it in fun colors and offer a more varied and stimulating daily routine. I printed this model with support material due to the overhang that holds the bowl in place. There really isn't any way to print this without material, as there is no foundation to bridge across (bridging is a 3D printing technical term that refers to making an overhang without support by creating a line of material between two points and cooling it quickly enough so that it forms a straight base for the next layer). This design isn't suitable for larger birds or very chew-crazy birds who would quickly destroy the bowl. Loose filament can peel off during printing, posing an entanglement hazard. If you're using custom settings, make sure to get good adhesion between layers.
