Project Investigator: Ing Liz Kateryn Chancafe Pisfil**Research Project** http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12423/2223This research project focuses on Molinerías, a milling company that specializes in rice production and marketing in the Lambayeque department. Currently, they process six types of rice, all in high demand but not fully met by their current capacity, with a common manufacturing process called pre-cleaning that has low productivity due to equipment design issues and operator control problems, resulting in an annual economic impact of S/. 73,583,495 on the company. To address these problems, the situation was first diagnosed, then a system automated design was presented using CAD SolidWorks software, which allows for modeling of parts and assemblies as well as electrical plans. Automation tools currently gaining traction in industry were also used via a programmable logic controller PLC TM221CE24R, which will control all system logic simulated by So Machine program. With pre-cleaning area automation, current indicators improved significantly, resulting in a 46.61% productivity increase from 61,489% to proposed 91.04%. Risk activities and machine downtime were eliminated, along with energy consumption costs and unsold sacks. The project has a total investment of S/.303,955.83, a benefit-cost ratio of 2.90, and a recovery period of 4 months and 3 days, making it a highly viable and profitable project for the company.
