A medieval woman's skeleton, numbered 274, discovered at St Oswald's Priory in Gloucester, reveals a devastating case of pulmonary tuberculosis. The disease had ravaged her spine, causing abscesses that led to the collapse and fusion of several upper thoracic vertebrae. This telltale sign is known as Pott's Disease, a hallmark of TB's destructive power.
