Discus thrower (Diskuswerfer)
myminifactory
This sculpture showcases an Olympics disk thrower standing frozen in mid-launch. The ancient Greek pentathlon, dating back to at least 708 BC, included the discus throw as one of its events. The physically fit young male athlete is depicted in a pose that highlights the intensity of his throwing motion, yet his face and body exude an air of remarkable relaxation and composure despite being in a demanding situation. His head is turned towards his left hand, which he has bent up in front of his face to gauge the trajectory of the discus as it soars through the air.
