<p>If you don't want to use voice activation on discord and a ptt key is clumsy during gaming, maybe this foot pedal will help.</p><p>This pedal holds a arduino pro micro with the <strong>ATmega32u4</strong> chip.&nbsp;</p><p>This chip allows the arduino to work as a usb keyboard. The idea comes from the user tactoad on instructables :&nbsp;</p><p><a href="https://www.instructables.com/Arduino-foot-pedal-PTT-switch/">https://www.instructables.com/Arduino-foot-pedal-PTT-switch/</a></p><p>I used the same electronics and code as is referenced in the link above. The only adjusting to the code was adding the keyboard libraries &nbsp;to get it to work. I also changed the input to KEY_F13 to use a key that does not exist on my keyboard, see the arduino keyboard reference here :&nbsp;</p><p><a href="https://www.arduino.cc/reference/en/language/functions/usb/keyboard/keyboardmodifiers/">https://www.arduino.cc/reference/en/language/functions/usb/keyboard/keyboardmodifiers/</a></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The push butten used is this kind (7mm thread and total 27mm length)(Not affiliated)</p><p><a href="https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Thread-Momentary-Stainless-Button/dp/B00CQMM2EC">https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Thread-Momentary-Stainless-Button/dp/B00CQMM2EC</a></p><p>Hinge needs a 5*40mm bolt.</p><p>Backlid needs 3*5mm bolt</p><p>Prints in about 2.5 hours on the mini</p><p>The butten is screwed in with needle nose pliers, you can adjust the depth to change the engaging point. Screw in in from the outside first to loosen the thread a bit, than from the inside.</p><p>If the thread breaks, glue the button at the right depth.</p><p>Optionally you can install a little spring between the pedal and the body, if the button needs help pushing the pedal back up.&nbsp;</p><p>Body should be printed with the 7mm threaded hole on the built plate without supports</p><p>Pedal on its side with supports</p><p>Backlid, with the nub upwarts</p><p>Final note, there might be a danger in this device, if you create a habit of pushing the pedal while talking, maybe be extra attentive while using a motorvehicle.&nbsp;</p>
