Discobolus no support (The Discus Thrower)
thingiverse
I personally abhor the hassle and scarring that comes with removing support from a stunning model. I adore smkmuseum's refined scan yet feel hesitant about printing it due to the substantial amount of support required. Perhaps this is the solution! I meticulously dissected the model into six segments so each part can be printed flawlessly without any support. Each component has been expertly aligned for optimal printing. A plate file containing all parts is also provided. To minimize distortion, I scaled down the model to 12% without compromising any details. Additionally, I carefully trimmed a thin layer from the original scanned base as it was neither flat nor level. Assembling the model should be relatively straightforward, but a minor caution: consider using E6000 (a type of adhesive commonly used for shoes) instead of superglue; the latter may dry too quickly for you to make precise alignment adjustments. If necessary, sand or file the glue surfaces so they fit together seamlessly. E6000 is recommended over superglue because it dries too quickly for fine alignment adjustments.
