Used a salvaged Western Digital hard drive. Modified the plastic disc and sander box to make it more compact to fit on WD motors. Also added six holes instead of four. Utilized a standard, inexpensive 6-10A ESC (no opto with BEC, featuring full servo PWM leads) from an old quadcopter drone - servo PWM controlled. https://www.ebay.com/itm/10A-Brushless-Motor-Speed-Controller-RC-ESC-BEC-For-RC-Helicopter-UK/112743739407?hash=item1a400cf00f:g:BkMAAOSwnlFaVGuS Employed a servo PWM generator in an Arduino programmed on a repurposed old DIY receiver with ATmega328. Or any setup with an ATmega328P (Arduino Pro Mini, Nano). https://www.google.com/search?biw=1920&bih=969&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=gECBXee8NM6bkwXI2aSADg&q=atmega+328++pot+servo&oq=atmega+328++pot+servo&gs_l=img.3...8523.9065..10230...0.0..0.103.395.2j2......0....1..gws-wiz-img.O6fg0duy2gc&ved=0ahUKEwjn_PjT19jkAhXOzaQKHcgsCeAQ4dUDCAc&uact=5#imgrc=_ Created my own servo PWM generator code (one channel) but it can be used with any Arduino Servo code for one channel from the internet. A linear potentiometer 5-10k was connected to one of ATmega328 analog pins, any of (A0, A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7). I repurposed a recuperated one from an old computer speaker that I had on hand. Except for the 2.1mm jack, only recuperated components were used - put them to good use.
