thingiverse
Human: DIY disc sander build disc. 150mm diameter fits 150mm sanding discs. 14 x 10mm vent holes, 8 at the outer side and 6 at the inner side, angled at 45° for easy dust removal (for clockwise rotation). They fit most of the sanding discs.\r\n\r\n3 versions download: M10x1.5 , M12x1.75 , M14x2\r\nThread test file included to see if it fits on your thread without printing and throwing away the whole thing if something goes wrong.\r\n\r\nM14x2mm thread fits angle grinder or other power tools using this thread. Be aware that it may shatter with high speeds, and you probably will burn your grinder by using such a huge friction surface, so use low speed tools.\r\n\r\nTry 10x1.5mm instead, thread in a bolt without a head, and use your cordless drill on first gear, it handles just fine.\r\n\r\nFilaments like PLA melt quickly from high temperature, so best to use ABS. I am using PETG with slow speed/small force and it works good. Glue velcro or glue sanding disc directly for super straight surface.\r\n\r\nOne more thing. Use autolevel make sure the bed is set flat as in non-autolevel machine, otherwise the disc will be wobbling.\r\n\r\nPrinter settings I used:\r\nBottom layers: 5 (1mm)\r\nTop layers: 2\r\nWall line count: 2\r\nInfill: 20%\r\nPrinting time around 4 hours\r\n\r\nTinkercad: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/9fy7oUG92xv-disc-sander-150xm14\r\nUse your own thread, just use the "iso metric thread" generator, but be aware that you have to make female threads 15% wider, for example, for 14mm use 16.1mm.
