Disc of Sabu, from ancient Egypt. Who knows what it was originally designed for, but I wanted to be challenged on cad.

For interesting details, read http://www.oocities.org/unforbidden_geology/Tomb_3111.html

Be cautioned, while that site is sane, there is MANY “interesting” ideas on how this bowl was to be used.

In any case, It was such an interesting shape and I wanted to recreate it in freecad. It ended up being VERY challenging. Yes, file is included so you can mock my lame attempt. ;)

I did not go for precise shape match, but rather “pretty close but not exact”. I went for chopped cylinders rather than that very complex tabs for example. Rest is pretty close match. Size is only very approximation by eyeball. I went for 600mm diameter, so almost for sure, you will need to shrunk it for printing, if you dare to.

Hope you enjoyed learning about this interesting object in least.
