Dirt Tire and Rim
thingiverse
To create a mud tire for off-roading, follow these steps. First, form a 2.2-inch diameter circle and extrude it outward by 0.8 inches for depth. Next, insert a smaller 1.2-inch circle inside the larger one and extrude it inward by 0.04 inches to showcase the rim. Then, create an even tinier .275-inch circle and extrude it outwards by 0.4 inches for it to be flush with the tire, not the rim. After that, make a .225-inch circle at a distance of 0.350 inches from the innermost circle using the pattern, and extrude these eight circles through 0.8 inches to form the whole tire. Now, starting from the top of the circle, create a rectangular shape measuring 0.032 inches in height leading inward to trim. Trim the part of the rectangle leading inward and the curve of the tire directly under the tread bump. Subsequently, generate 25 tread bumps using the circular pattern and extrude them across the whole length of the tire. Finally, download the STL file, generate G-code using ReplicatorG, and press build when connected to a MakerBot to see your creation come to life!
