I designed a test for direct extrusion on my Ender 3 without breaking the bank, utilizing only standard components and two extra M3 screws at a mere 25mm each. With this setup, I fine-tuned the retraction distance to an optimal 0.6mm. The long-term stability of this modification is uncertain, but I'm sharing it here in case others want to give it a shot.
