This is a remix of the CR-10/Ender 3 Direct Drivinator by Madau3D. I've changed the relevant dimensions and added cutouts so it fits the Elegoo Neptune 2, which has a slightly different X axis to the Ender 3.

The Neptune 2 also has a filament sensor as stock, so this version has a plate attachment to screw the sensor to.

Print the mount at 45 degrees: see the attached .3mf for the orientation that worked best for me. You'll need to specify two small support areas.

Everything should be printed in PETG. In particular the legs of the
filament-sensor-plate
rely on PETG's flexibility to lock into place.

This mod follows the same philosophy of the original in needing no additional hardware, except for two things. The first is that I found I also needed a cable attachment so the extruder cable didn't foul against the frame when the head was zeroed on the X axis. The attachment clip is included, but it needs a pair of M3 bolts to screw it down to the back of the
filament-sensor-plate
. If anyone cares enough I'll design a printed fitting for this, but right now what I've got works for me.

The second is that the extruder motor and the filament run-out sensor need their wires extending. These are straight-through connections that I used 22AWG bundles for. You can probably get away with whatever you've got lying around for the sensor, but you do want to be careful that the extruder cables aren't too fine.

Assembly should be obvious from the photos.

There is one gotcha to be aware of with this revision of the design, and that's the routing of the hot end wiring harness. You can see from the photo that it wants to pass very close to the spindle of the extruder stepper. In time that'll wear out the insulation on the wiring, and could potentially snag and cause a short, so be aware that this version is not for long-term use. My next version will have a cable tie attachment point on the mount; you may want to make alternative arrangements until then.

It's important that you put the stepper motor into the mount with the wiring socket facing upwards for the same reason. If you have it facing towards the back, the wires will rub against the frame.
