After swapping to a direct drive system, I simply turned the spool holder from side to side and secured it with one screw. However, that didn't sit well with me, so I whipped up this little adapter. You might need longer screws depending on the printer you're using. This mod should be compatible with any printer featuring aluminum extrusion and a filament spool holder mounted on top that feeds directly into the extruder. It'll also work on printers with Dual Z - there's enough clearance between the belt and the adapter.
