Direct-drive replacement for Wade type extruder
thingiverse
This project is experimental in nature. I am unsure if a Nema17 motor will generate enough torque to push 3mm PLA filament into the hotend, but I am willing to try. Inspired by several excellent designs already available, this extruder design features an integrated mounting base that allows it to replace existing Wade-style extruders directly. It uses a 688AZ bearing with dimensions of 16mm outer diameter, 8mm shaft, and 5mm width. A Nema17 motor, which is larger in size, will be utilized. The Makerbot Mk7 hobbed pulley, similar to this one: http://store.makerbot.com/mk7-drive-gear.html, will also be incorporated.
