I'm so over swapping out worn-out gears three times a week. To fix the issue once and for all, I swapped my 10x5x5mm bearings with beefier 10X15X4MM units from RC cars - specifically the TRAXXAS and HPI ones that I picked up on eBay. This new setup gives me a more substantial contact area with my filament for about 50-60%, while positioning the bearing slightly higher to increase the pressure between the gear and BB. But that's not all - I've also added a sturdy 10mm M3 screw along with some washer from a scrap piece of Textolite to keep everything locked in place, making this thing a lot more reliable.
