Update 19-DEC-2015 A crucial modification was made to the guide block for bowden tube - it now features a parametric length. Furthermore, I have added a hole designed specifically for securing the bowden tube using a fixing screw, which has a variable diameter that can be adjusted as per need. I initially set out to integrate an uncomplicated direct drive extruder concept similar to Replicator 2X into my Cartesian 3D printer, with bowden tube and a unique motor mount featuring four holes. Additionally, I included a side flange that offers increased stability. This redesigned part was completely created from scratch using Openscad but still retains compatibility with the original design of Replicator 2X. The component makes use of an identical Makerbot lever which can be downloaded at Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:53125). Important dimensions and the optional side flange have been optimized to enable successful printing without any external support structures, utilizing customization options.
