Direct Drive for MK2/MK2.4
prusaprinters
So here at last is the long-awaited direct drive for the Open RC Tractor MK2/MK 2.4.What has been changed and why:I liked the solution with the differential in the beginning but it is getting harder and harder to get it. In addition, there are problems with the gears slipping and the weight distribution is somewhat unfavorable. So I came up with the idea of changing it to direct drive (like the MK3).Advantages:- 2 motors = double power transmission- more weight on the rear axle- fewer parts required- no noise from the differential- much much more space inside- did I already mention that you have more torque on the ground ;-)Disadvantages:- I would recommend a front weightWhich parts are needed:MK2:- 1_lower_chassis_DD- 2-2019-upper-chassis-part1-DD- 2-2019-upper-chassis-part2-DD- 22a-fender-right-DD- 22b-fender-left-DD- 29a-rear-rim-outside-x2- 29b-Rear_Rim_inside_with_3mm_hole_DD- 30-2019-rear-axle-x2-1- M3 threaded rod 45mmMK2.4:- 1_lower_chassis_DD- 2-2019-upper-chassis-part1-DD- 2-2019-upper-chassis-part2-DD- 22a-fender-right-DD- 22b-fender-left-DD- 29d-mk24-rear-rim-axle-adapter_x2-short-DD- M3x20 bolt with nutA 10mm drill guide is included with the files. I would recommend not using the printed part for the axle but an aluminum tube with an outer diameter of 10mm and an inner diameter of 4mm. This is cut to a length of 15mm. Then drill 2 holes with a diameter of 3 mm. One of them goes all the way through and one only as far as the inner hole. An M3 thread is now cut in the "half" hole. This side is placed on the motor shaft. You can use the Drillguide to find the correct positions for the M3 Holes. The 45mm threaded rod is driven completely through the inner rim to fix the axle to the rim.Motors:2 JGA25-370 with 130 or 170 revolutions are required (higher speeds are possible but do not fit the scale). Please note that the motors must be polarized differently. For questions/wishes/suggestions please write.
