Direct Drive for your Ender for cheap. Not the prettiest looking thing but it works wonders in all sorts of ways. uses mostly factory parts, holes, motor, extruder. You Will need an E3D Hotend and an extension cable for your E-Motor. a simple soldering job. You may need some bolts. You will need to re-route your cables to come across the front X axis. otherwise you will be massively limited on the height and snagging is likely if you come round the back. depending on where your filament is slung you may need to make a guide to allow free movement of the cable chain when near the upper limit. I have included a guide that suits my top mounted horizontal spool holder. it may work for you too. My design restricts neither X nor Z axis capacity. Eliminate the need for Bowden tubes and those compression fittings that wobble and muck up your retraction settings. Print PETG with virtually no stringing. Increased print speeds. Easier access to the extruder for swapping filament. Quick swap (the TPU strap slips off, and the whole fanduct swings down out of the way, then there is one bolt to undo and the hotend unclips from this mount) The Top Dragger mount lines up with the famous JohnnyWhiskey cable drag chain found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2920060 and transfers through the X Axis endstop switch housing via this genius thing: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3218297/files Together we will tidy up the entire Ender 3 and make it print like a pro :o) You will find that you can knock your retraction settings right back and that setting your nozzle width precisely is a thing of the past. I use a 0.5mm nozzle and I tell my slicer I have anything from 0.3 to 1mm depending on the job and it just gets on with it. I can print the bottom half of a model at 0.5 layer height then switch to 0.25 layer height with no issues. I have speeded up print time from 3 hours to just over an hour.
