Direct Drive Filament Guide for Ender 3 Top Rail

Direct Drive Filament Guide for Ender 3 Top Rail

I recently converted my Ender 3 to Direct Drive. The problem I ran into was that I wanted to keep the filament spool on top of my enclosure in the back left corner, so I could store the box with my 'printer stuff' on top of the enclosure too. This meant the filament would have to enter the enclosure from the left side. I didn't like that it caused the filament to scrape the top of my extruder. So I created this filament guide the slides into the top extrusion rail. I ran a bowden tube from the top of my enclosure, where the filament enters, to this part. Now the filament enters the extruder (mostly) straight, causing less wear to the extruder over time. It fits snuggly into the extruded top rail. The hole for the bowden tube was a little small, but with a little help from the Xacto-kife, the bowden tube now fits great! I printed it with the top flat on the print bed and used Cura's 'supports everywhere' to help with the overhangs on the part that goes into the extrusion.
