Mounting Style Options Use stl files to mount the motor using the original style or convert to a Nema 14 mount for improved compatibility. Suitability and Precautions This motor is best suited for very light duty only, given its size and weight. Read the instructions carefully before proceeding with the conversion. Important Considerations Print in PLA at your own risk: The motor may get hot enough to soften the plastic during printing. Keep a close eye on the temperature. Construction Variance These motors can vary in construction, so you may need to make modifications to the drive shaft and adapter for optimal performance. Check the instructions before disassembling. Customization Options You can customize the scad file to generate either type of mount or specify the size of bearing you prefer. I used two MR105ZZ bearings stacked together for added side force resistance, but a standard 5mm id bearing will work if you're using a Nema 14 shaft. Adapter Construction The adapter has a tight fit with the bearings, which must be pressed into place. Adjust the clearance as needed for your printer's specific requirements. Alternative Attachment Methods I drilled holes in the case and used screws to retain the adapter with PLA. For higher temperature plastics, I recommend gluing it in place instead. Additional Tips Cut the connection as shown in the pictures to convert the motor to bipolar operation. This process requires a different driver, which can be found on Jangeox's website. Bearing Attachment The shaft is bored for a tight fit with the original driving gear and attached using epoxy. The adhesive also reinforces the rotor, but be careful not to get any on areas where free rotation is crucial. Additional Resources I've included an stl file for the shaft, but it's best to make a metal version if possible. Tubing may be used as a substitute if desired.
