Dionysus, Hermes and a Maenad
myminifactory
Maidens driven mad by Dionysus' fervent spirit would dance into a state of frenzied ecstasy, fueled by the intoxicating power of wine and rhythmic movement. During these frenzied rituals, they would adorn themselves in supple fawn skins and grasp a thyrsus, a sturdy staff wrapped in emerald ivy or delicate vine leaves and topped with a pine cone. Around their heads, they would weave intricate garlands of living ivy or don the bull-shaped helmet as a symbol of reverence for their divine patron.
