Diogenes the Wedgebot
thingiverse
Behold! A bot! 1lb plastic ant class A wedge with wheels, can be used as is, or you can modify it to have a weapon. Soldering is required to build this bot. Recommended parts list: Repeat Robotics 16mm brushed gear motors, 2x (any 16mm brushed motors should work) Malenki ESC/Transmitter (there are many other ESCs and transmitters that can work.) Fingertech mini power switch Lipo battery, 180 mah 2s minimum. Use a 3s battery for faster drive. Banebots t40 wheels, 2 3/8" x4 Banebots t40 hub, 3mm x4 *Alternative configuration* You can use Fingertech hubs and foam wheels This will be lighter, but offer less grip. There's room for 2.5" wheels, but 2.25" should work, albet with minimal ground clearance. You will also need: A female JST or XT30 connector (match your battery.) 6x heat set anchors, m3 (5mm long or shorter) M3 screws, (4x 10mm, and 2x 8mm) 20ga silicon wire. (or part of the pigtail from the connector.) Tools: Soldering iron, electrical solder, flux (a flux pen is easiest.) snap ring pliers for the wheels Screwdrivers/alen wrenches . Please note, the bot needs to be taken apart to charge. 3/32" hex wrench for the power switch The Malenki ESC/receiver uses the AFHDS 2A protocol, the Flysky FS-i6 transmitter is a good budget choice to control the bot. Most of the parts can be purchased from ITGresa Update: I added an alternate top shell for those who don't want to use heat set inserts.
