Dinosaur Tooth Replica

Dinosaur Tooth Replica

I just unwrapped my Matter & Form Scanner this week, so this is the first time I've had a chance to scan an item and then print it. Don't expect perfection - after all, I'm still learning how to scan! Here's the story behind how I brought this 3D printed tooth to life: To start, I made 4 separate scans of the dino tooth with the Matter & Form 3D scanner. Then, I merged those scans into one and saved it as an STL file. The white tooth in the photo is the actual 3D print of the scanned image - take a look at how close it looks to the original black tooth! I just brought home my scanner and printer this week, so this little dino tooth is the very first object I've had a chance to scan and then print. The Robo 3D R1 Plus 3D printer produced the printed tooth with precision and speed.
