Dino Stegosaurus 3-layered-animal cnc/laser
thingiverse
This 2.5D Stegosaurus is a standout member of the three-layered animal family, distinguished by its distinctive upright plates on the back. Unfortunately, the simplification process resulted in the omission of tail spikes, an intriguing feature that adds visual interest. Crafted on a desktop CNC machine by Stepcraft from 6.5 mm beech plywood, this build utilizes a spiral-toothed 1.2 mm flute. Following machining, the model required minimal sanding and simple assembly through gluing together. For smaller versions, consider utilizing a laser cutter as an alternative tool. Alternatively, create a miniature aluminum version by screwing parts together to produce a tiny key fob. To explore more animal creations, visit https://www.zenziwerken.de/en/Spielsachen/Tiere. How I Designed This I scoured the web for reference images and used Illustrator to meticulously trace vectors. Subsequently, I built the model in SketchUp to assess the design before cutting material. The circles can be employed as alignment markers or screw holes. To facilitate assembly, I inserted a wooden rod that greatly aided gluing together.
