This is a DIN Rail Mounting Case for a DC-DC Adjustable Step-down Converter Module with Digital Voltmeter. The converter module, available on eBay for approximately $5 US, consists of an estimated assembly cost of less than $7.00 US. It's sold on eBay under item number 111283659312 and also listed as 261667051478. Here are the tools used in this project: 1. A CTC R2x 3D Filament Printer 2. A Phillips Head Screwdriver 3. A Soldering Iron To fit the module into the brass standoffs, I modified an old soldering tip to match the shape of the standoff. The materials required include six M5.5 self-tapping screws used in PC fans and four sets of male-female brass standoffs (M3 6mm x F 6mm). Most converter modules come equipped with these parts and a small aluminum heat sink. To assemble the DIN Rail Mounting Case, follow these steps: 1. Print the necessary parts. 2. Use a soldering iron mod to melt the brass standoffs into place. The temperature settings used are as follows: +300ºC for PLA filaments, +350ºC for ABS filaments. 3. Attach the DIN rail mounts using four M5.5 self-tapping screws. 4. Mount the Buck Converter Module with machine screws. 5. Connect DC/DC voltage input and output leads to the converter module. 6. Place pegs in large holes at the bottom of the case, facing downward. 7. Carefully tilt the case upside down and slide the cover into place. 8. Secure the cover using two M5.5 self-tapping screws. 9. Snap the assembly onto a DIN rail and test its functionality.
