I whipped up a makeshift solution using some very deep male DIN41529 connectors from old Bang & Olufsen speakers, which I had on hand, to test out a couple of speakers in June 2014. The makeshift cables held up surprisingly well, and the speakers are still playing great without any issues ever since then.
