Dimmer Housing for Anet A6 Hot End Light
thingiverse
I really like the hot end light by bhamlin52 (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2721617) for the Anet A6, but it's annoyingly bright. I'm also a fan of dimmers, so I decided to add one to this light. I got the parts I used from AliExpress for less than $1 each delivered and use Fix-All gel adhesive from Super Glue (available at Dollar Tree) to secure the dimmer in the housing and the housing to the light. You could run a separate 12 Volt line from the power supply, but I just wired it in parallel with the extruder throat cooling fan (on all the time) and it works perfectly fine. If you want to be able to turn the light completely off, you'll need to add a switch in series. By the way, I have several different printers and use the new version (1.17.1) of the Craftware slicer, which stores all the geometry and G code headers and footers unique to each printer. It's really a great and intuitive slicer you can get for free from Craftunique.
