Dimmer Case (EU Schuko plug)
grabcad
Case for a smart home dimmer switch. The dimmer switch is originally manufactured for wall mount and supports control over wifi via smartphone (Smart Life app). Since plugable dimmer switches are not very common in the smart home market (I discovered a single one by Tradim - NL for the European market), I decided to add a case for the dimmer switch that I successfully use in 3 rooms already. The outlet is a EU plug (without ground wire). You will need additional parts that are integrated into the 3D-printed case:- metal pins for the EU Schuko plug- metal terminals for holding the EU plug pins that are inserted into the case- shields that prevent the metal parts from slipping free (made out of plastic waste, rectangular shield also provided as component within CAD file if you prefer to print it)I had to spent some time for discovering suitable metal parts. The pins I have removed from a plug I already possessed. For the terminals I am providing you with a link as starting point:https://www.textilkabel-shop.de/Schukokupplung-aus-Gummi-IP-20-ohne-DeckelThe smart home wifi dimmer switch is widely sold on Amazon and Ebay.As main CAD files you find below:- Autodesk Fusion 360 file (.f3d) with all separate bodies and components to play around with- Autodesk Fusion 360 file (.f3d) with combined bodies and components as basis for printing- STL file as input for your preferred slicing program as pre-step for 3D printingIf you wonder about the cutaways within the EU Schuko plug: they are meant to lock the metal pins by turning them after having them inserted into the corresponding holes. The circular shield is only to prevent them from slipping free into the case body.
