Created with 3DS Max 2016, this model offers a glimpse into prehistoric life. The Dimetrodon, an extinct synapsid from the Permian Period, lived in what is now Europe and North America. Its sail-fin may have regulated body temperature, and it measured about twice the length of a horse while weighing approximately 550 pounds. A carnivore, its distinct dual tooth types were designed for capturing prey and shearing flesh from bones. Fossil discoveries span across several continents, indicating widespread existence during its 20-million-year tenure. Despite resembling a dinosaur, Dimetrodon was a synapsid reptile, walking on all fours with a long tail and an impressive sail fin. Theorized purposes for this sail include temperature regulation, intimidation, or mating displays.
