Digitrax UT Throttle Table Mounts

Digitrax UT Throttle Table Mounts

Here's a project with a slightly narrower focus, but still plenty of fun. I designed and built holders for my grandkids' Digitrax UT throttles that attach securely to the table edge. Holding onto these throttles can be tricky for little ones, making it hard to multitask - put cars on the track, flip switches, etc. This solution keeps them engaged without constant throttle-holding. I have a pair of throttles, the Digitrax UT2 and UT4, that my grandkids love using on our layout. The main difference between the holders is where the cable exits: the top for the UT4 and the bottom for the UT2. Each holder has mounts for 1/2" and 3/4" thick table tops, making it easy to find a perfect fit. The clever slide system I used is borrowed from Filboyt's filament guide - genius! To keep things tidy, I created little clips that hold up extra cables off the floor. These are specifically designed for coiled cables like those on the UT4.
