Digital Soldering Station

Digital Soldering Station

Hi everyone! This is my latest design of a digital soldering station. Uses Pensol type of soldering iron like this: https://www.tme.eu/gb/details/pensol-irone-n/soldering-stations-accessories/sorny-roong-industrial/ For the iron holder I used parts from this: https://www.tme.eu/gb/details/sr-sh814b/soldering-iron-stands-feeders/sorny-roong-industrial/ Link to the Illuminated tactile switch: https://ro.farnell.com/multicomp/mcsphn7-yca043t/switch-tact-illum-blue-noiseless/dp/2146953?st=illuminated%20tact The switches I got were a little shorter than expected, so I added a small spacer called "SolderingButtonClearance" below the switch. Otherwise, the buttons won't come out of the front panel. If you use buttons with higher caps, this adaptation won't be needed. I used white buttons for the Quick select buttons and blue ones for the up/down buttons. The LCD I have used is: https://www.tme.eu/gb/details/rc1602b-llh-jwv/lcd-alphanumeric-displays/raystar-optronics/ Please note that this type of LCD has a non-standard pinout. At the time of PCB design, I didn't know this. So for this LCD, the PCB must be modified as follows: Do not mount R3. Cut the LCD contrast trimmer trace connected to +5V. Add a wire between pin 15 of the LCD and the connection of the contrast trimmer you cut before. In case you use standard 1602 LCD (standard green), no need to do any of these modifications. R3 must be soldered. "Soldering Station Gerber.zip" can be used to order PCB from here (really cheap): https://jlcpcb.com ($2 for 10 pieces plus about $8 shipping). You will need an AVR programmer like STK500 to upload the uC SW into the AVR microcontroller, "SolderingStation.hex" and "SolderingStation.eep". Menu description: Up/down buttons change the selected temperature. Holding UP/DOWN button down for 3 seconds enters menu where you can configure: 1. Standby entering delay time; 2. Standby temperature; 3. Enable/disable BUZZER 4. Calibration Menu: - KI, KP, KD; - Enable/Disable/debug of the control loop; - Gain and offset calibration of the temperature reading. Holding down the quick pre-select button for more than 3 seconds stores the current temperature to pre-selected temperature. In case you have any further questions, please let me know in the comment section below. P.S. In case you have absolutely no knowledge about electronics, this project might not be for you - or you can use it to hard learn electronics).
