An electronic visual display called a touchscreen permits user control through multi-touch gestures by touching with a special pen/stylus and/or fingers, while some even respond to specially coated gloves or ordinary ones. User interaction is direct with the displayed content without requiring additional devices like mice or touchpads. Infrared acrylic projection screens are translucent sheets that utilize infrared LEDs illuminating their edges and infrared cameras at the back to detect objects placed on them, particularly when touched by users as this causes leakage of infrared light, peaking at points of maximum pressure to pinpoint touch locations; technology used by Microsoft's PixelSense tables.
