# Digital Orrery This project creates a digital orrery, where each planet can be addressed and controlled individually. ## Parts List * 4x Nema 17 stepper motors, 40mm: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PNEQI7W * An Arduino Uno * Arduino CNC shield: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XJKVLG3 * All of the 3D printed parts ## Printing All the parts need to be rotated because Fusion 360 likes to output STL files in the wrong orientation. I printed all parts at 0.32mm and they work pretty well, so a finer resolution is not required. However, it would probably be wise to sand anything that slides around, mainly the inside and outside of the shafts. Print one part each, and three sun pins. For the collars, drill a hole into them around the middle of the protrusion for whatever wire you are using to hold the planets. The collars should snap firmly onto the shafts; I did not use glue. ## Demonstration Whole device: ![Whole device][wide] Close up: ![Closer device][close] Video: [![Video](http://img.youtube.com/vi/tbyMe05wM1g/0.jpg)](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbyMe05wM1g "Orrery Working") More info found here: [github] [github]: https://github.com/jrddupont/Orrery [wide]: https://i.imgur.com/hOvwWhX.jpg [close]: https://i.imgur.com/2LTnKSo.jpg [orrery]: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orrery
