Digital Gauge Housing
thingiverse
Hi there, As promised, an updated version that includes a dust cap and "U" shaped extension will fit perfectly with the cover I'm also designing. Warning: The dust cap and extension may overhang a little, so good support is essential. I printed it with ABS, but the supports generated by Simplify3D weren't sufficient; the dust cap had noticeable warping (additional or customized supports can be created using Meshmixer). I designed this digital gauge housing to complement the clip holder designed by 1bigpig since I couldn't attach the round metal plate of my instrument's ring. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1445744 Edit: The housing allows you to attach both the round plate and the gauge within it; if your instrument has a diameter of 57mm, they'll fit snugly like a globe. Update: Hey guys, I'm currently redesigning the housing, adding a dust cap and extra protection for the pin. I'll publish the updated version soon. Print Settings: Printer: Cocoon Create Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: Layer height 0.20 Infill: 20% Notes: I printed it with transparent ABS. Cura settings: • Print speed: 60mm/s • Printing temp: 240 • Bed temp: 95 • Platform adhesion type: Brim How I Designed This: My digital gauge is a generic Chinese make that likely copied the Pittsburgh model (see attached photos). I took measurements and used 123D to design the piece. The housing features: • 58mm of internal diameter • 75mm of external diameter • Two 8.2mm holes for the measuring pin
