Digital Clock
thingiverse
This is a digital clock housing designed specifically for a Max7219 4x8x8 dot matrix display. To create this project, I paired the enclosure with a Wemos D1 Mini microcontroller, but other microcontrollers can also be used due to the extra room available in the enclosure. I envisioned this as a Wi-Fi enabled clock that displays the correct time, but this is not a necessary requirement for its functionality. This housing can serve multiple purposes - it provides an ideal way to enclose a Max7219 display with a microcontroller for projects beyond just a clock. Other viable options for microcontrollers include the NodeMCU or Arduino Nano paired with an ESP8266 shield. The enclosure's lid features a small hole that facilitates easy installation of a reset button for the microcontroller. I printed this housing using 40% infill on both the enclosure and the lid to enhance its strength, given the relatively thin walls. I believe it would still function optimally even with a lower amount of infill. Please share your thoughts on this design or provide any feedback you may have!
